Press release - Exhibition catalogue. "Welcome on board. The Sea Stallion from Glendalough A Viking longship recreated"
About the content of the publication:
The booklet presents the Sea Stallion from Glendalough in three chapters: “The Find”, “The Ship” and “The Voyage”. The goal is that the reader should encounter the ship as a reconstruction of a Viking age longship and gain insight into the research behind the ship and the voyage to Ireland. The chapter “The Find” briefly describes the excavation and reconstruction of the original find. “The Ship” gives, with the aid of 20 richly illustrated entries, the reader the possibility to explore the construction of the ship and to answer the question “Where do we know this from?”. “The Voyage” tells about experimental voyages as research tool and about the SEA STALLION’s journey to Dublin and back. The catalogue further includes a preface and a final entry, “Who supports the project”, with a list of public and private sponsors. It has been translated from Danish into English by a professional translator and native English speaker, Dr. Gillian Fellows Jensen.
