Sea Stallion on the Spree, 6th September 2014

Berlin gave a warm welcome and thousands of Berlin's residents and tourists applauded Sea Stallion through the sun-soaked city.

The route went from Ost hafen, under 13 bridges and through a lock before Sea Stallion finally reached its destination: Schiffsbauerdamm, right between the Reichstags building and Museum Insel.

Den 60-mand store besætningen roede 10 kilometer ad Spree-floden gennem Berlins centrum.

Over alt, på broer og langs floden stod berlinerne tæt for at få et glimt af Havhingsten.
Berliners stood crowded on every bridge and along the river banks to catch sight of the ship.
Masten var lagt ned og skibets høje stævne skulle fjernes ved hver af de mange broer, skibet skulle under.
The mast was laid and the ships high stems were removed at each of the many bridges the ship had to pass under.
Berlins højeste vartegn, fjernsynstårnet på Alexander platz, kunne ses tydeligt fra Havhingsten under næsten hele turen.
Berlin's highest point, the Television Tower on Alexanderplatz, could clearly be seen from Sea Stallion almost all the way.
Solen skinnede og der blev vinket fra tilskuerne - og tilbage fra skibet.
The sun shone and there was much waving - both from shore and ship.
