Prices and terms for reproduction

Indicative prices

Prices applicable for use in books, CD-ROM, weeklies, magazines, projector presentations, TV/film, internet. All prices in DKK excl. 25% VAT.

Prices applicable for archives, libraries, exhibitions and use in non-profit scientific publications. All prices in DKK excl. 25% VAT.

Price and delivery terms

• All images are issued in digital form: 20 x 25 cm, 300 ppi for photographs and 1200 ppi for drawings. Additional fees should be expected if extra photo work is required, e.g. for larger images
• All prices are valid for single publication and single editions only. 
• If the same motif is required for multiple media such as print, e-book and web spin-off from the print or e-book publication, the reproduction fee is conferred with 50% per year media.
• Permission to reproduce is not given exclusively. 
• We offer a 25% discount for museums. A discount can also be given for small print runs and for academic and educational purposes. 
• A higher fee will apply where print runs are in excess of 50,000 copies. 
• Ordinary delivery takes ca 30 days, express service (within a week) costs 100% extra. 
• For orders in excess of 5 images, a discount of 50% on each additional image will be given. 

Terms for reproduction

• The Viking Ship Museum maintains the copyright of the reproduced images. 
• A copy of the publication containing the reproduction must be supplied unsolicited and free of charge to: The Viking Ship Museum, Picture Library, Vindeboder 12, DK-4000 Roskilde.
• In the publication, it must be clearly stated that the reproduced image belongs to The Viking Ship Museum, Denmark and, if available, the photographer’s or the illustrator’s name must be provided: Copyright: The Viking Ship Museum, Denmark. Photo/illustration: Name. 
• The permission to use the image is strictly limited to the agreed purpose (as described on the invoice).   
• In the case of a reprint, 50% of the current reproduction fee is to be paid.
• Images may not to be sold, copied or borrowed to a third party without the written permission of the Viking Ship Museum. 
• Electronic storage of the material is only permitted as long as electronic work concerning the publication is required, i.e. all digital copies of the images in question must be deleted immediately after use. 
• Images used on the Internet are to be published in low-resolution only, max 1000 pixels wide. The permission to show the image is only valid for the appointed period, maximum one year. By extension of the Agreement the reproduction fee is conferred with 50% for the first year and an additional 25% for the following years.
• Images must not be subject to any kind of superimposition, pasting, trimming or electronic manipulation without a written permission from the museum. 
• Original media may not leave the premises of the Viking Ship Museum.
