The Viking Ship Museum's evening sailing trips are sailed in traditional Nordic clinker-built boats. The boats are descendants of Viking ships and represent a common Nordic cultural heritage dating back 1000 years.
All participants on board take an active part in the voyage, both rowing the boat in and out of the Museum Harbour and setting the sails and trimming the ropes.
Along the way, the experienced skipper will talk about the Viking Ship Museum's work building and sailing reconstructions of Viking ships.
We set sail from the Viking Ship Museum's harbour about 3 1/2 hours before sunset, so we can be back in the harbour before dark.
It is not necessary to have sailing experience to sail into the sunset on Roskilde Fjord in descendants of Viking ships.
