Sunrises, orange moon and a nice sailing to Bagenkop

Wednesday 24 July, day 24 of the Skjoldungen voyage.

Yesterday we set course for Denmark once again. We had agreed to sail towards Bagenkop because we are once again adjusting to the weather and wind. That's why we know that Wednesday is going to be a top day. There will be strong winds from the west, whereas Thursday is perfect for sailing towards Rødby.

We set sail early from Maasholm, after which it was a good sailing for the rest of the day. We arrived in Bagenkop in the late afternoon. The harbour master welcomed us and once again we can see that the hospitality is impressive.

The female guests have set up a small tent camp just a short distance from the toilet facilities, while the male guests have set up camp in the sailors' lounge. We never go to bed late as most of us wake up between 5 and 6 am.

We experience sunrises and a brilliant orange moon. We are really close to nature.

Now it's Wednesday morning and the wind whistles and howls in the mittens and stays on Bagenkop's many sailing ships.

Today we're going on a mixed city and cultural walk.

With Torben Okkels as skipper, everything is put into a historical context.
