If you stay in Roskilde after the conference days - for example to participate in Saturday's post conference activities - you will now have the opportunity to attend the launch of the museum's latest reconstruction of a Viking ship and help celebrate the inclusion of the Nordic clinker boat traditions on UNESCO's representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
At the Viking Ship Museum, we have reconstructed the small merchant ship from Skuldelevfundet. The ship will be named and launched on 7th of May, and then take its first trip on Roskilde Fjord, where the other Viking ships and traditional boats will welcome the newcomer . The launch is expected to take place at 12.30. Everyone is welcome.
