The Viking Ship Museum offers, as the only place in the world, that during the summer season you can walk directly from the experience of the original 1000 year old Viking ships in the Viking Ship Hall and out to the Museum Harbour, where full size reconstructions of Viking ships are moored. Climb aboard one of the descendants of the Viking ships, a Nordic clinker-built wooden boat, and row out on Roskilde Fjord, where we set sail!
Everyone on board actively participates in rowing, setting sails and doing other "sailor work".
Sailing times are published 3 weeks in advance - subject to change up to the day of the sailing.

Sailing facts:
The sailing lasts about 50 minutes including the provision of life jackets and introduction to the ship and rowing. Participants are the ship's crew and must all actively participate on board - rowing the ship out of the harbour, setting sail and perhaps manning the helm. All sails are led by an experienced sailing instructor.
Children on board: There are a few places on board for children (aged 4 to about 14) and others who cannot row. Unfortunately, children under the age of 4 cannot take part in the sailing. Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
Always bring practical and waterproof clothing.
