Frederikssund dinghy
Frederikssund dinghy, from 1905
- a local fjord dinghy
Our goal is to be able to build these local fjord dinghys as they would have been built traditionally. This means that they should be built without using moulds as we normally do in 'modern' wooden boatbuilding, where we use drawings and thereafter, moulds, which are developed on the drawing board by a draughtsman.
Traditional boatbuilders designed boats based on the individual customers needs and the prevailing local traditions and techniques. They built boats using the rule of thumb and their own experiences and knowledge, which was passed down from master to apprentice, generation after generation.
