The Skivum Stone
In Skivum Church, 30km southwest of Aggersborg, there’s a rune stone in the porch that reads: "Thyra and Odinkar and Gudmund, mother and sons, these three raised this monument in memory of ... the {huþska}, he was the first and best of landholders in Denmark.” Researchers believe that "landholder" should be understood as a royal official, and not in the sense of one who cultivates land. The stone is especially interesting because it’s the only rune stone, other than the Jelling Stone, that refers to Denmark by name.
