Again a day with trial sailing. Trials with tacking, compass card and rowing with the sail both up and down. The wicker-band for the rudder, has to be tightened all the time, so we check up on it, when we get back to port. It turns out that the piece of cloth that is attached to avoid tear, is undamaged. But a closer inspection shows us that many of the threads in the wicker-band itself (made of tarred hemp rope) is torn over. Apparently the wicker-bands are not strong enough... The emergency wicker-band that is made from a strap for a crane is installed and the damaged one is repaired. A good day!
