14.50, log 87, wind NNE 6-7 m/sec. (a moderate breeze), few clouds.                        Departure from Kirkwall for Loch Inver on the west coast. We row in headwind and with the current to Vesteray Firth (about 12 nautical miles), from where we can use the sail.

19.30, log 401, wind NNE 5 m/sec. (gentle breeze), cloudy.                                           We set sail, small swell from the west. Fantastic sail between the Orkneys!

22.00, log 413, NNE 6 m/sec. (moderate breeze), few clouds.                                       We are on the North Atlantic and set course for Cape Wrath 242° It will be a cold night, but the wind is perfect.
