Tuesday, 16th July 2024, day 16 of Skjoldungens voyage.

Tuesday morning, we finally set off on our part of the expedition. In a light easterly wind, we left Nyby with Kerteminde as our destination. We enjoyed the first part past Røsnæs and crossed the T-route during the day without much drama. We saw both porpoises and seals. As the day progressed, the wind and weather changed. When the wind turned directly against us, we had to bite the bullet and attach the outboard motor to reach Kerteminde in the wind and rain. Arrival in Kerteminde can often be challenging due to the current, which is more or less unpredictable. Slightly soaked, we tried to find a place to spend the night. When we approached the kayak club, they offered us their clubhouse. The kindness we encounter is incredible. The curiosity from people passing by the ship is immense.

The goal tomorrow is to continue southwards towards Nyborg and Lundeborg.
