A day on land with rain, wind, and repacking

Published: 16/07-2024

Monday, 15th July 2024, day 15 of Skjoldungens voyage.

Our second day in Nyby harbour is now coming to an end. The weather is not on our side. It has been rainy and windy for most of the day, but it doesn't matter to us because we have a lovely place to stay at Røsnæs Havkajakklub/Røsnæs Sejlklub. We have encountered so much hospitality and are very grateful.

In the afternoon, we decided to visit Refsnæs Brugs and the very beautiful Dutch gallery mill in Ulstrup. We were fortunate to be invited inside the mill by the local builders. The entire mill is undergoing a major renovation.

When we returned to the harbour, we were visited by Christian Schou, a valued member of the boat guild.

Early in the afternoon, we packed the ship so that we can sail at 7 o'clock on Tuesday when the wind shifts to the east.

Spirits are high, and we are ready to set off.
