The first video podcasts have appeared on our website as a foretaste of what is to come with this year’s voyage. And more are already on the way.

Moving pictures have become a big hit on the Internet and the Sea Stallion website is keeping up with the trend. Last weekend’s safety course resulted in no less than two short films, which can now be seen with all the films from last year’s voyage.

The Viking Ship Museum is pulling out the stops this year. The museum’s own photographer, Werner Karrasch, video journalist Kasper Thor from the company, Fjernsynet, and journalist Lars Normann will produce video film every day all the way home.

“Moving pictures will supplement and amplify articles on the considerations and procedures of the crew on the voyage. Film is the perfect medium for explaining some of the complex problems we will face on the way, and many of the films we are planning will therefore function in harness with the written material we will put on the website”, explains the head of the shipyard at the Viking Ship Museum. Søren will on board all the way home and have the job of collecting, registering and communicating all research decisions made.

This week, the Sea Stallion will be lowered back into the Liffey. The event will be shown in a video podcast on the website.
