After a day off, in Inverie on the Peninsula Knoydart, we are know heading for a place to cast anchor in Loch Sunart on the main land, near the island Mull.
10.20, log 602, NW 5, Rain. We row out of the harbour after a great visit on this strange place with lots of nice people and lots of music! The sail is set right outside of the quay and we tack our way out of the fjord Loch Nevis.
12.54, log 612, NW 9, Cloudy. There's a fresh wind with the showers, and we reef one rope. The rudder withy gives a lot of way and we have to tighten it often.
15.50, N 6, few clouds. We pass the most western point of main land Great Britain, Cape Ardnamurchan and reef out, because the showers are over. THE SUN IS SHINING!
18.30, log 643, W 4-5, light clouds. The sail is taken down and we row in before casting anchor in a beautiful bay behind the island Carna in Loch Sunart. We are greeted by Bruce, the local "estateowner," who arrives in his big rubber dinghy, while playing bagpipe. On the beach a grill with deerbeef, a BOX of whiskey, gin, beer and wine are waiting... Dangerous...
