08:15 a.m., log 512, W 3 m/sec., cloudy. We are going out of the harbour of Loch Inver by oars, towards Isle of Skye, where we according to the plan ought to arrive at midnight when the tide is coming in. We sail before breakfast so we will be able to use the light breeze as much as possible.
09:20 a.m., log 515, NE 1,5 m/sec., cloudy. Ready to set sail and eat breakfast.
11:10 a.m., log 518, N 3 m/sec., clear sky. We are only making 1.8 knots. Whales are turning up around the ship.
12:00, Log 520, N 3 m/sec., clear sky. The watch. The Outer Hebrides in sight on the starboard side. Isle of Skye right ahead.
14:00 p.m., log 527, N 4-5 m/sec., clear sky. Island Fox, our support ship, is practising rescue drills - "just for intertainment" as the skipper says. Axel jumps overboard. Afterwards he is served coffee and sugar on the support ship.
16:00 p.m., log 534, N 3-4 m/sec., clear sky. We are not satisfied with the speed so we increase the area of the sail with the tarpaulin which is connected below the sail as bonnet.
19:00 p.m., log 544, N 5 m/sec., clear sky. We set a southly course and get a needed increase of wind.
20:00 p.m., log 549, N 6 m/sec., clear sky. Lamb stew, sunset and a fine speed (6 knots).
02:10 a.m., log 576, W 3 m/sec., clear sight. We take down the sail and row to the buoy of Kyle Akin, Isle of Skye, where we will lie at anchor for the night.
