The Rune Stone at Hanning Church

Just 20km further north, embedded in the south-facing wall of Hanning Church, you will find the region’s only other rune stone. This stone was recycled as a building stone for the church, and so part of the inscription has been lost. The text states that “V …Tue’s son raised this stone in memory of Gyde, his mother. ...-kell [carved?].” The stone is also decorated with a Thor’s hammer.
