Konabbe Forest Stone Ship

Langeland also has its own Viking stone ship. It’s hidden away in Konabbe Forest, barely 500 meters inside the forest in a northerly direction. This "ship" has not been excavated, but its type suggests the Viking Age. It’s 13m long and 5m wide and differs to other known stone ships because the stones used for building it are relatively small. A From Rudkøbing heading south -12km to Hennetved village. Take Kågårdsvej on left hand side for approx. 2.5km and turn to right towards the forest. Movement in the forest is on foot only. There’s an info sign and, from that, the route is marked with green triangles for approx. 2.5km.
